Amy Winehouse Speaks?

In light (like most parents I’m positive my family will have nothing but light from here onJ) of the reality that my wife is expecting with our son; I was compelled to link with the Amy Winehouse news.

Stress, Fear, Panic,Anxiety, depression, addiction…? Help!

The issue forever looms with these kinds of celebrity deaths about whether the famous person was surrounded by fawning flatterers who ignored health risks to keep their meal voucher intact. Still we may rarely have seen a pop shero case as extreme as Winehouse's: The last years of her life manifested  an open mess. This was not like those Celebrities, whose problems were kept hidden, on the brink of being said but unsaid, but a big name who appeared to overtly court calamity for a at least 5 years, regardless of whether she was being enabled or humiliated.

You wont see great denial going on where her loved ones are concerned.

"I realize my daughter could be dead within the year," said her mother, Janis. "We're watching her kill herself, slowly. I've already come to terms with her dead. …this person throwing all these gifts away.

"Perhaps it is time to stop buying records," said her former father-in-law, Giles Fielder-Civil, suggesting a boycott as a last resort. "."

"There's only one person to blame and that's Amy," her father declared four years ago. " People (from the record company) who have been in the business for 20 or 30 years who are used to seeing matters like this, crying their eyes out because of their genuine love and affection for Amy.

Amy Winehouse's family and others of her management had an intervention meeting ready after things started deteriorating so publicly in 2007, but Winehouse and her husband missed it to go to a pub. But her malaises soon caught the attention of the law. There were various arrests for possession.

When the renowned crack video emerged, Mitch Winehouse said he wanted to get her sectioned under England's Mental Health Act to force her to clean up, but couldn't. "You might consider taking drugs is a danger to herself, but unfortunately the authorities don't," he said.

I often wonder how we can prevent this from happening in our own families.

Studies reveal a means to calm one's anxiety is to center on being content. (Phil. 4:11; 1 Tim 6:6) Cultivating an attitude of gratitude will significantly help one find fulfillment and well-being in any avenue of life and therefore reduce anxiety. Some other great advice for staying well against stress and anxiety is to eat well, to reside in the present (Matt. 6:34), look for ways to serve others that you are at ease being around (Phil. 2:3-4; 4:10) - an occupied mind doesn't have time to think and dwell on irrational thoughts. Some counselors advise their clients to schedule time for worrying and then they their clients are educated to take the time to pray for getting rid of any lingering worrisome feelings of theirs in a positive way. (Thomas, n.d.)

"I don't care what the specific cause of death was — she (had) a fatal condition," Drew Pinsky (Celebrity Rehab) said on CNN. "Opiate addiction takes months to years to treat... Just as with the diabetic, if they don't take their insulin, if the addict doesn't do the (full, daily) program, they inevitably in all cases will relapse, and when it's an opiate addiction, it's a progression to fatality."

Do you think her father likely had it right in 2007 when he said there was one person to blame? And it was the tragic figure who, even in the face of ongoing shame — and in the end, possibly, because of it — couldn't stop saying "yes, yes, yes."

There’s an old saying, “If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready. This father  is sleeping with one eye open.  I can only pray and write and stay knowledgeable about traditional and unconventional stress and anxietytreatments.  Like I always say; Watch for the small signs and take the consistent small steps for big victories.

Breathe Woman!

Anxiety and depression might look like opposites, yet over 50% of the women diagnosed with depression also have anxiety and some panic disorder. There have been many everyday TV shows focused on panic attacks and anxiety including Oprah.  Many female celebrities reportedly have endured some experience with anxiety attacks:
v  Supermodel, Beverly Johnson

v  Entertainer, Barbara Streisand

v  Singer, Marie Osmond

v  Singer, Alanis Morisette

v  Singer, Aretha Franklin

v  Actress, Nicole Kidman

v  Entertainer, Whoopi Goldberg

In Combination, depression and anxiety can be especially challenging to live with, hard to diagnose, and demanding to treat.

Anxiety and stress tend to hit women more. Truth be told twice as much as men, but it is often harder for a man to confess the reality of their condition.

Society is inclined to treat this as a weakness in a man. The predisposition is to think it ought to be easier for a man to 'overcome it'.  It's a bit like crying. It's acceptable if a woman cries, but REAL men don't cry.

Research shows those with children have higher levels of stress related hormones in their blood than women without children. Does this mean women without children don't experience stress? Not in the slightest!

It means that women without children may not go through anxiety to the identical degree as women with children do. Meaning, it's chiefly beneficial to schedule time you will be in a better mental set to meet the daily goals of being a parent, once your stress level is reduced. Are you a working woman?  Do you have a troublesome mate? The same could be said for you.

The simple choice is to go to a doctor for care. However, many women have tried and WON speedy relief with other alternative therapies available to treat panic attacks safely and effectively. The highway to wellness may not be easy, but it's certainly worth the freedom from anxiety it brings.

When women are within the grip of depression and anxiety, it can feel like the agony of mind will never end, that you’ll never rally.  Anxiety is a feeling of apprehension or fear. The source of this uneasiness is not always recognized. But still, people do manage to return.

People diagnosed tend to have:

v  Moderate to severe symptoms

v  More drawback in their day-to-day lives

v  More trouble choosing the right anxiety treatment

v  Elevated risk of suicide

Here are healing quick start tips:

v  Focus on small steps. For most women grappling with anxiety and stress, making it through the day is hard enough.  Over time, small changes can give you the confidence to make bigger ones.

v  Put effort into therapy. Try to do your part; the benefit you’ll get from therapy is directly related to the work you put into it.

v  Be an active partner in your treatment. There are many good anxiety and stress helpers for women. But they all hinge on being willing to try.

Regardless of whether you are a single female, working mother, married with children, anxiety interferes with normal life.  Anxiety is considered abnormal when it is very time consuming or overwhelming, it happens in the absence of a stressful incident, or it is interfering with everyday activities such as going to work.

Markers of anxiety include:

v  Elevated heartbeat or palpitation

v  Sleepless nights

v  Irritability

v  Being unable to concentralize

v  Feeling unreal, termed depersonalization.

Many people who suffer from anxiety disorder occupy their minds with disproportionate tension about anything from health matters to job problems to world issues.

Because anxiety comes and goes, women go overboard when it appears, only to disregard it when it isn't present. The anxiety attack is when the most immediate help is needed. Over the next few weeks, I will discuss and review natural healing, the causes of anxiety as well as managing worry.

You are in no way alone in this anxiety and stress battle.  There are a substantial number of women out there sharing their stories. Most feel overcome.  That’s why I wanted to write about this: So you can find peace and grasp that we’re all on this massive blue marble for good reason.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Stay tuned!
